Following the successful installation of an RTO system at its Hardenberg site, Cervitech BV has also successfully completed a major optimization project at Amcor (formerly Berry UK) in Worcester, UK. The system is fully operational, approved by the customer, and delivering demonstrable improvements in energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and production performance.

The Worcester RTO project consisted of three main components:
1. Full project management
Cervitech handled the complete project management, both from the Netherlands and on-site in the United Kingdom. In close collaboration with Amcor, the project was completed on schedule and fully aligned with the factory's technical specifications and production requirements.
2. Energy efficiency improvement and connection of seven flex units
A key milestone was the successful connection of seven flexographic printing units to the new afterburner (RTO). This optimization resulted in:
- A reduced airflow towards the RTO
- A higher solvent concentration
- Faster achievement of autothermic operation
- Lower gas consumption
- Better overall energy efficiency
In addition, bypass valves and piping were optimized. This not only improved the performance of the RTO system but also the efficiency and stability of the flexographic printing presses.

3. Delivery, installation and commissioning
The RTO was supplied by Relox GmbH, which was responsible for the mechanical and electrical installation. Cervitech supervised the implementation and handled the complete commissioning.
The startup phase was phased: first, the afterburner was commissioned independently, after which it was connected to the production machinery. Integration with existing factory systems went smoothly, and the entire system is now operating satisfactorily.
Delivery of a shared washing machine in collaboration with Enviroxi
Parallel aan het RTO-project realiseerden Cervitech en Enviroxi hun eerste gezamenlijke succes bij Amcor in Worcester met de levering van een nieuwe delenwasmachine.
This installation is specifically intended for cleaning printing press parts such as:
- Ink wells
- Kamerrakels
- Drip trays
The machine is fully operational and has recently been electrically connected by the Cervitech team. Thanks to its automated operation, the cleaning process is faster, more efficient, and more sustainable, contributing to higher productivity and improved process continuity.

Collaboration and future
With the successful completion of both the RTO project and the delivery of the parts washing machine, Cervitech strengthens its long-standing relationship with Amcor and underscores the strength of the collaboration with Relox and Enviroxi.
These projects confirm Cervitech's expertise in emission reduction, energy optimization, and industrial process improvement. Cervitech is already working on new projects in the UK and internationally and continues to collaborate with Amcor, aiming to continue developing sustainable and innovative solutions for the industry of tomorrow.
