Following the successful implementation of the RTO, CERVITECH has once again carried out a sustainability project at Amcor Hardenberg.
For a new flexo printing press, waste heat from the existing RTO is recovered and used to heat the drying air. Through a 700 kW heat exchanger, a hot water circuit, and a 5,000-liter buffer tank, heat that was previously lost is put to productive use within the production process.
This reduces natural gas consumption, among other things, and makes the most efficient use of available waste heat. In addition, this installation forms the foundation for a future heat network, enabling other processes and building heating systems to be supplied with waste heat. It is a great example of how existing installations can be utilized to further advance sustainability.
